The Workplace Relations Commission ordered a hotel to pay an accommodation assistant €500 compensation and Sunday premium arrears after finding its 10% Sunday premium unreasonable. The decision was dated 31 August 2017. The arrears cover Sundays worked in the six months before the complaint was referred and reflect the difference between the 10% premium paid and time plus one third. The WRC found that the worker’s written contract contained the required employment terms, and that its meal and uniform deductions were covered by that contract. Those complaints were not well founded.
