The WRC found that a chef’s complaints about holiday pay, rest breaks, working hours, written employment terms and wages were not well founded. His unfair dismissal complaint was withdrawn at the hearing. In a decision dated 20 February 2018, adjudication officer John Tierney said the executive head chef had determined his own hours and days. The employer had said he was responsible for his own breaks. The chef had also claimed €923 in unpaid overtime, but that was not an award.
