The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed a warehouse operative’s redundancy claim against an employment agency. The decision was dated 16 November 2017. The operative said he had been summarily terminated and was due redundancy pay. The agency said its client dismissed him for gross misconduct and that he did not qualify as its employee for redundancy purposes. The adjudication officer found the dismissal was not a redundancy and was not satisfied that the operative qualified as an employee of the agency under the Redundancy Payments Act.
