The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed a part-time flight attendant’s complaint that an airline treated her less favourably over the reference period used to calculate flight block hours. Adjudication Officer Pat Brady dated the decision 22 August 2017. The attendant argued that calculating block hours by calendar year increased her total and contributed to a more onerous Christmas roster. The airline said block hours depended on routes, were not paid working time and that the complainant had not identified a specific comparator. The WRC found that different treatment did not establish less favourable treatment and dismissed the complaint.
