The WRC awarded a driver €1,500 after finding his complaint of unfair treatment well founded. The decision was dated 24 July 2017. The driver said his attempt to raise workplace grievances was cancelled and that the transport company later accused him of working for another employer while on sick leave. He also said he received a threat, which he reported to Gardaí. The company did not attend the hearing. Adjudication Officer John Tierney accepted the driver’s uncontested evidence and awarded €1,500 for unfair treatment and the company’s failure to deal with his grievances.
