The WRC found no breach of employment legislation in a chef and kitchen assistant's dismissal after a restaurant closed its kitchen. Adjudication Officer John Tierney dated the decision 19 June 2017. The worker said he was given a week's notice by phone while on holiday. The restaurant said financial problems forced the kitchen to close and three other staff were let go at the same time. The adjudicator considered both sides' submissions and found there was no case in law for the respondent to answer.
