The WRC upheld a retail assistant’s redundancy complaint after finding her service continued through changes of business ownership and her job ended when the grocery store ceased trading. She is entitled to statutory redundancy based on service from 7 October 2000 to 8 July 2016, subject to insurable employment. The decision was dated 20 November 2017 by adjudication officer Gerry Rooney. A correcting order changed the termination date to 8 July 2016.
