The Workplace Relations Commission found that a retail supervisor was entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum based on service from 28 November 2006 to 8 July 2016 and gross weekly pay of €360. The decision was dated 23 November 2017, and the entitlement is subject to her having been in insurable employment for the relevant period. The complainant said her employer closed the business without paying her redundancy entitlement. The grocery retailer did not attend the hearing, but sent a written submission. The adjudicator upheld the complaint on the uncontested evidence and found that her continuous service ended when the business ceased trading.
