A sales assistant won €500 after the WRC found her employer had failed to prove it provided required rest breaks. The decision was dated 8 November 2017. The assistant said she worked 25 hours a week in five-hour shifts and that one person covered each shift at the filling station, preventing her from taking a break. The retailer and fuel station argued that breaks were taken but not recorded. The officer extended the time limit, citing the grievance and the employer’s failure to proceed to conciliation.
