WRC finds it had no jurisdiction over associate director’s dismissal complaint

The WRC found it had no jurisdiction over an associate director’s unfair dismissal complaint against a property company because the claim was not properly before it; the merits were not decided. The decision was dated 11 July 2017. The associate director said his employment ended on 8 March 2017 and the claim was lodged on 22 March. The company argued that the dismissal date under the Unfair Dismissals Act was 7 June. The WRC accepted that date and found it did not have jurisdiction.
