The Workplace Relations Commission awarded a Montessori Worker €760 in notice pay and €380 for unpaid final-week wages after a childcare centre closed without notice over a bank holiday weekend. The decision was dated 13 July 2017. The worker was also entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum, subject to having been in insurable employment. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The adjudicator found that the worker's employment ended by redundancy and extended the filing time for the notice and wages complaints because there was reasonable cause.
