The Workplace Relations Commission required an employer to pay a worker €5,837.31 in statutory redundancy under the WRC decision dated 31 May 2017. The respondent ceased trading and the shop was sold on 5 May 2016. The worker had been employed from 6 June 1999 until trading ceased. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The WRC upheld the claim based on the worker's insurable employment.
