A Foreman is entitled to a redundancy lump sum after his construction company failed to bring him back following a temporary lay-off, the WRC found in a decision dated 18 October 2017. The adjudication officer found the claim well founded because the company was ten weeks outside the time frame. The Foreman said he had not returned to work after his lay-off. The company cited a downturn, said it had since secured contracts and needed him back, and said it lacked funds for a lump sum.
