The WRC recommended that a hospital arrange a fresh review of a workplace investigation after a clerical officer was not given the chance to comment on its report. The recommendation was dated 20 November 2017. The officer had complained about bullying and harassment by another person at work. He was dissatisfied with the investigation’s findings and sought an appeal or review. The hospital asked another person to consider the report but did not include the officer’s observations in that process. The adjudicator recognised the hospital’s efforts to conduct a fair and comprehensive process but said it was regrettable that the officer was not given a voice to comment on the final report. The WRC recommended that the hospital appoint someone unconnected with the earlier process to review the investigation and findings alongside comments from the officer and Lady A. It also recommended that the hospital invite both to submit observations concurrently before the review.
