The WRC awarded a paramedic €10,000 after finding that a health service provider’s conduct left her with no option but to resign. Adjudication Officer Gaye Cunningham dated the decision 5 April 2018.
The officer cited delays in paying an earlier equality award, uncertainty over alternative work and repeated non-payment of wages. Long periods without communication from the provider worsened the situation. She took account of the paramedic not using grievance procedures, but said that did not defeat her case.
The paramedic’s two working-time complaints were withdrawn before the hearing.
