The Workplace Relations Commission ordered a restaurant to pay a restaurant manager €1,538.28 net for unpaid wages, holiday pay and minimum notice, and to pay statutory redundancy entitlements. Adjudication Officer Eugene Hanly dated the decision 6 October 2017. The manager said the restaurant closed suddenly and that he received a text telling him not to return because of refurbishment. It did not reopen. The restaurant did not attend the hearing. The WRC found that €404.81 net was due for his final week of work, €323.85 net for four days of holiday pay and €809.62 net for two weeks’ minimum notice. The redundancy entitlement was subject to his having been in insurable employment for the relevant period.
