WRC does not recommend bus driver receive €335.90 rest-day payment

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission did not recommend that a transport company pay a bus driver €17.50 in meal allowances for two days or €335.90 for a rest day. The recommendation was dated 26 October 2017. The driver said he refused to move his tour bus to another location during a strike by another company’s workers and then lost the payments. The company said drivers were expected to work their assigned rosters. The officer found the driver was the only employee to refuse the relocation and had effectively removed himself from the roster.
