The Workplace Relations Commission found that a worker had not persuaded it that the interview process for a permanent “pallet man” role was unfair. Adjudication Officer Penelope McGrath dated the decision on 14 November 2017. Five people applied for the post. The worker argued that job-specific criteria disadvantaged him because another employee had covered the role during absences. The officer said employers could select the best candidate and use criteria specific to the role. The successful candidate scored 11 marks more than the worker. The officer made no recommendation.
