The Workplace Relations Commission rejected a security guard’s race discrimination complaint against a facilities management company, finding no evidence that his transfer between work sites was related to race. Adjudication Officer Roger McGrath dated the decision 27 April 2018. The guard said he was moved from a Dublin 1 site to Swords after the client ended its contract there, and that he found little work at the new site. The company said the specific reception role had ended and that the guard agreed to the move. The WRC accepted that the loss of the contract explained the transfer and found the guard had not established facts supporting an inference of race discrimination.
