The WRC found that a product builder’s complaint against her employer was not well founded, ruling that the alleged wrongdoing concerned her employment contract. Adjudication Officer Michael Hayes dated the decision 4 April 2018.
The worker said her supervisor failed to support her after she complained about a colleague’s conduct and training. She later alleged that an attendance investigation and a threat of disciplinary action were retaliation for that complaint. The employer argued that the concerns arose under her contract and did not amount to relevant wrongdoing under the Protected Disclosures Act.
The WRC agreed that the alleged wrongdoing related to provisions in the worker’s employment contract. It ruled that the complaint was misconceived and not well founded.
