The WRC awarded an employee of a packaging company €400 after finding an annual leave complaint well founded. Adjudication Officer Michael Ramsey dated the decision 6 June 2018. The employee, a production operative, said the company failed to provide annual leave and public holiday entitlements, breached rules on zero-hours work and withheld wages after being told the employee could return from sick leave. The company said it sought medical clearance before the return and later paid wages from the proposed return date. The employee returned to work on 7 July 2017. The WRC found a technical breach of annual leave rules between 3 February and 31 March 2017 and ordered €400 compensation. It found the other annual leave complaint, three public holiday complaints, the zero-hours complaint and one wage complaint not well founded. The duplicate wage complaint was withdrawn.
