Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission found that a security employee was entitled to a redundancy payment after her employer ceased trading. Her service ran from November 2012 to 19 April 2017, with gross weekly pay of €340 for 20 hours’ work at €17 an hour. The decision was dated 20 November 2017. The employer’s letter said it had ceased trading and had no work for her. The WRC found the letter showed she had been made redundant. She had received notice pay but no redundancy payment. The employer did not attend the hearing.
