The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a driver’s complaint over two days of occupational sick pay was not well founded and therefore failed. Adjudication Officer Jim Dolan dated the recommendation 20 November 2017. The driver said a workplace incident left him unable to finish his shift and that he met the scheme’s conditions. The public transport company said the incident was minor and did not warrant two days’ absence under the scheme. The adjudicator treated the registered collective agreement as binding and found the company had the right to satisfy itself that the scheme’s conditions were met.
