The Workplace Relations Commission recommended that a production supervisor accept a manufacturing company’s severance terms after his compulsory redundancy. The recommendation was dated 30 January 2018. The supervisor argued that earlier employees had received six weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory redundancy, while his offer was four weeks’ pay per year with additional benefits. The company cited cost pressures and said its package included continued health insurance, training support and extra notice. The WRC recommended that he accept the company’s offer.
