A crèche manager won a statutory redundancy claim after a fire closed the day-care service. The WRC found a genuine redundancy situation and upheld the claim in a decision dated 14 February 2018. The worker said she had no written evidence of redundancy or guarantee of payment. The employer said it could pay only through an insurance claim.
