The WRC awarded a general operative and machinist €1,500 for annual leave breaches, as part of five successful complaints against a commercial plastic wrapping company. Adjudication Officer Penelope McGrath dated the decision 28 March 2018. The respondent did not attend the hearing. The worker said he had not received final payslip amounts of €184 and €653, had no employment contract and received no help with the redundancy process. The WRC found the company had failed to meet redundancy obligations, provide employment terms, pay final remuneration and comply with working-time obligations. The awards were €800 for the redundancy complaint, €800 for employment terms, €850 for unlawful deductions, €1,500 for annual leave and €80 for public holidays. His unfair dismissal and employment equality complaints were withdrawn.
