The WRC found that a truck driver was entitled to a statutory redundancy lump sum after his employer’s business closed. The decision was dated 2 February 2018.
The worker was employed from 18 October 2014 to 14 February 2017 and earned €600 gross a week. The WRC based the entitlement on those employment dates and pay, subject to the worker meeting current social welfare requirements for PRSI contributions.
