Tenant’s discrimination complaint fails after he leaves WRC hearing

By Eimear Byrne

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission found a tenant’s discrimination complaint not well founded after he left the hearing without giving evidence. The decision was dated 2 February 2018; the landlady attended and was ready to give evidence. The tenant alleged discrimination on gender, religion and race grounds. The officer said he failed to pursue the complaint and had not established a prima facie case; the merits were not decided.
