The WRC recommended that a health care facility recognise a manager’s full pay as salary and remove the description of part of it as an allowance from payslips and other pay documents. The recommendation was dated 29 May 2018. The manager, represented by Forsa, had been in a defined benefit pension scheme that closed in 2016. The facility, represented by IBEC, said pension contributions under the replacement scheme could be based only on the salary recognised for the manager’s grade.
