The WRC found a member of the Traveller community’s Equal Status complaint against a local authority not well founded after the complainant missed three hearings. The complaint concerned accommodation needs; the merits were not decided. In a decision dated 11 August 2023, the WRC said the county council was the correct respondent because it provided the service and was vicariously liable for its staff.
