The WRC found a worker’s Equal Status complaint against a local authority was statute barred. The decision was dated 10 August 2023; the merits were not decided. The complaint alleged discrimination and harassment over the family’s accommodation needs. The complainant argued the alleged treatment was ongoing, while the local authority said the complaint was late. The WRC found the county council was the service provider and the correct respondent, but held that the complaint, received in June 2018 over alleged conduct in 2015, was outside the time limit.
