The WRC found a worker’s Equal Status complaint against a local authority was statute barred. The decision was dated 10 August 2023; the merits were not decided. The complaint alleged discrimination and harassment over the family’s accommodation needs. The complainant’s representative argued the alleged treatment continued, while the local authority said the complaint was late and the county council was the proper respondent for staff conduct. The WRC found the council was the service provider and the correct respondent. It held that the complaint, received in June 2018 over alleged conduct dating to 2015, fell outside the time limit.
