The Workplace Relations Commission awarded driver John O'Donoghue €2,108, four weeks’ pay, after finding in his favour in a complaint against Interlink Ireland Ltd. The decision was dated 19 June 2023. O'Donoghue said he had not received written terms within two months of starting work and that he was first asked to sign a proposed contract more than a year later. The company said managers had given him a contract and pointed to an email and an upload to its HR system, but the managers were not available to give evidence and no signed contract was produced. The adjudication officer found no evidence that the statutory requirements for a written statement had been met. The award was the maximum available under section 7 of the Terms of Employment (Information) Act 1994.
