The Workplace Relations Commission found that Padraig Joseph Mc Kenna’s discrimination complaint against Dundalk Institute of Technology was not well founded. The decision was dated 23 May 2024. The complaint concerned a confined competition for a Grade V post, open to eligible applicants in the Education and Training Sector Candidate Pool. Mc Kenna said the advertisement did not make clear that the competition was confined, and argued that the restriction was discriminatory. The Institute said he was not shortlisted because he did not meet the pool’s eligibility criteria. The adjudication officer said Mc Kenna did not identify a protected ground or establish facts supporting an inference of discrimination.
