The Workplace Relations Commission allowed Raymond Cooley’s redundancy appeal against Red Express Couriers Limited and found he was entitled to a statutory redundancy payment based on average weekly pay of €580. The decision was dated 16 May 2023. Cooley worked for the company until it ceased trading and said he had not received redundancy pay. The company did not attend the hearing. The WRC found his role had become redundant and allowed the appeal.
