The Workplace Relations Commission found John O’Sullivan entitled to a statutory redundancy payment after his mobile breakdown job ended, but dismissed his separate minimum-notice complaint. The decision was dated 6 July 2023. The company had stopped its mobile breakdown service and offered O’Sullivan an onsite role in Naas without company transport. The WRC found the alternative terms differed significantly from those he had enjoyed and that he could reject the offer. It set the payment basis at gross weekly pay of €590, subject to his having been in insurable employment during the relevant period.
