The Workplace Relations Commission found two complaints by Eileen Cooper against University College Cork were not well founded. The decision was dated 2 August 2023. Ms Cooper did not attend the hearing, although the adjudication officer was satisfied she had been notified. The complaints concerned alleged penalisation under the Protection of Employees (Fixed-Term Work) Act, 2003, and the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act, 2005. The WRC said both were not well founded due to a lack of evidence following her non-attendance; the merits were not decided.
