The WRC found that Asba Meats Limited unfairly dismissed Meenaz Sheikh and awarded her €2,480.24, equal to four weeks’ pay. The decision was dated 13 May 2024. Sheikh said she was dismissed without a disciplinary process after raising concerns about workplace activities. Asba Meats did not attend the hearings, and the case proceeded in its absence. The adjudicator found that Sheikh was not told the reasons for her dismissal and that no procedures were followed. The WRC said she provided no details of efforts to reduce her losses when setting compensation.
