The Workplace Relations Commission found that Brenda Cummins had not established a discrimination complaint against Moore Cleaning Services Limited under the Employment Equality Act 1998. Adjudication Officer John Harraghy found the complaint was not well founded in a decision dated 31 May 2024. Cummins, who worked as a cleaning operative from October 2020 until April 2023, said bullying and harassment by her supervisor and colleagues led her to resign. The company denied discrimination. At the hearing, Cummins said she could not identify a protected ground for her complaint. The officer found she had not linked the treatment to a ground covered by the Act or established a prima facie case, the initial evidence needed to support a discrimination claim.
