A WRC adjudicator recommended €250 compensation for a driver who was unfairly dismissed after being told there was no more work. The recommendation was dated 28 June 2023. The worker’s account that no other reason was given for his dismissal was uncontested because the courier company did not attend the hearing. The adjudicator found he had been dismissed without due process or an apparent valid reason, and recommended compensation in view of his very short service.
