The WRC found that Ideal Fire Limited unfairly dismissed Grzegorz Grygier and ordered it to pay him €1,000 compensation. The decision was dated 13 May 2024. Grygier said he had asked for training on gas suppression systems and was dismissed after an incident he was told had cost €15,000. Ideal Fire cited performance concerns, including the incident and a day he left work early. The adjudicator found that no proper process took place and Grygier had no fair chance to answer the allegations. He found similar paid work after his notice pay expired, a factor considered in setting compensation.
