The WRC found that a worker was not entitled to acting-up pay after returning to a general operative role at a distribution company, in a decision dated 13 May 2024. The worker said his wages had fallen by about €100 a week after his acting line manager duties were removed. The company said he stopped acting as a line manager on 18 May 2023 and was paid for his general operative duties. The WRC found that only general operative wages were properly payable after he returned to that role. His contract provided €25 when he was required to act up, but he was not required to do so after 18 May 2023. The complaint was not well founded.
