The Workplace Relations Commission found Nicole Gilbert’s unfair dismissal complaint against Apollonia Dental was not well founded. The decision was dated 28 May 2024. Gilbert said she was dismissed after taking medical leave because of her pregnancy. Apollonia Dental said it did not know she was pregnant and had not intended to end her employment. The adjudication officer accepted that the Revenue employment end date was an error because it predated her sick leave, and found the dispute arose from miscommunication.
