WRC dismisses music school principal’s allowance complaint

By Saoirse Doyle

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The WRC dismissed Cecilia Madden’s complaint that Limerick And Clare Education And Training Board failed to pay a higher Principal’s Allowance. Madden alleged an agreement to move her allowance from Category V to Category XII had not been honoured. The Board said her contract provided for Category V and she was paid the applicable allowance in full. The adjudicator found the 2022 contract specified Category V and June 2023 correspondence did not establish an entitlement to higher pay. The complaint was not well founded.
