The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Sophie Hendrick Rust €3,000 after finding that Sugar Drop Limited breached transfer of undertakings rules by reducing her hourly rate from €17 to €15. The decision was dated June 5, 2025. Hendrick Rust, a chef, said her previous €17 rate should have continued when the business changed hands. Sugar Drop said €15 was its probationary rate for new entrants, with a proposed increase to €17 after probation. The adjudicator found the €17 rate transferred with her employment.
