The Workplace Relations Commission rejected Joseph Monahan’s unfair dismissal and redundancy complaints against Darlex Risk Management Ltd, finding that the security contract transferred and he moved to the new provider, SMS Security. The decision was dated 26 May 2025. Monahan had alleged that Darlex dismissed him after offering an alternative role with a new proposed start date, and that he was due statutory redundancy. The WRC also found his complaint about the proposed contract date was not well founded because his existing terms had not changed. He withdrew a pay complaint after accepting he had received the applicable increase; a duplicate terms complaint was dealt with alongside the first.
