The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Christine Reilly’s Equal Status complaint against Aldi Stores (Ireland) Limited, finding she had been reasonably accommodated when a shop assistant lifted her tray of water bottles onto the checkout belt. The decision was dated 23 July 2025. Reilly alleged staff spoke rudely to her when she asked for help and that a manager later told her she did not have to shop there. Aldi denied the allegations. The adjudicator excused a notice omission because Aldi had learned of the dispute within weeks and suffered no prejudice, then found no evidence supporting the allegations of rude speech.
