The Workplace Relations Commission found Martin Hamill’s complaint against Kildare And Wicklow Education And Training Board was not well founded. Adjudication Officer David James Murphy dated the decision 16 September 2025. Hamill said he should be paid the qualified teacher rate for evening teaching, as he was for daytime work. The Board said the evening hours were covered by a separate adult education tutor contract and paid at tutor rates. The adjudicator found Hamill had not established an entitlement to the qualified teacher rate through a contract, an employment regulation order or sectoral employment order, or another law. He therefore found there was no unlawful deduction from wages.
