The Workplace Relations Commission rejected paramedic Jimmy McElwaine’s complaint against the Health Service Executive / National Ambulance Service, finding it was not well founded. Adjudication Officer Emile Daly’s decision was dated 17 June 2025. McElwaine alleged the change to the transfer application process altered his employment terms without written notice, and said he missed consideration for two transfer positions. The HSE/NAS said it changed a transfer process under a collective agreement with SIPTU. Daly found the process formed part of McElwaine’s employment terms but that the collective agreement exception meant written notice was not required.
