The WRC dismissed Patrick Mulvihill’s discrimination complaint against Bus Eireann on jurisdiction, so the merits were not decided. The decision was dated 20 September 2016.
Mulvihill argued that Bus Eireann’s refusal to renew his school-bus services contract because of its age policy was discrimination on age and gender grounds. The Adjudication Officer found that awarding commercial contracts was not a service available to the public generally under the Equal Status Acts, and that Mulvihill did not have standing to pursue the complaint.
